Personal Medical Alarms

Personal medical alerts help save lives with the push of a button

Personal Medical Alert System

Product Overview

Personal medical alarm products, such as ADT’s Companion Service®, allow individuals to call for help when in an emergency situation. This revolutionary technology works by using both a base station and a wireless device (pendant or wristband). When someone needs help at the push of a button, their wireless device communicates with the base station that can be located up to 300 feet away. The base station acts as the link between the person in need of assistance and the personal alarm monitoring company. Users simply push a button to be automatically connected to their alarm monitoring center, who in turn will call for help for you.

Why We Like It

• Extremely easy to use – simply push a button and help comes on the speaker immediately
• Works both indoors and outdoors
.

Who Is It For?

• Great for senior citizens who wish to remain independent
• Perfect for teens who might be home alone at times

These alarms are a great device for the elderly and anyone who should need to have an alert alarm. Personal alarms for defense are a wonderful source of protection device the elderly should consider carrying as well.

My mother is 86 and would benefit having a personal medical alarm. Since I have been with ADT for several years would I qualify for a complimentary upgrade?

What do you mean that "help comes on the speaker immediately" ? Is the speaker a part of the button working indoors or outside?

Mrs J. Cable, The Companion Services® System uses a standard telephone line for sending alarms, and the monitoring party will not receive an alarm signal: 1. When the telephone line is not operating or has been cut, interfered with, or is otherwise out of service. 2. When a telephone in your household (other than under companion services when a telephone is properly plugged into the Companion Services® accessory base station) is in use or is otherwise off the hook. 3. When a computer modem, fax machine or other telephone dialing device in your household is in use. 4. When there is an extended power outage. The alarm monitoring services provided under this agreement will commence after the Companion Services® System has been properly placed and installed by you or ADT, as the case may be, at the subscriber’s address and is operational, and after the necessary communications enrollment process is completed for connection to the monitoring center. If you want your Companion Services® System to send an alarm signal even when a telephone in your household (other than a telephone properly plugged into the Companion Services® base station) is in use or is otherwise off the hook, and even when a computer modem, fax machine or other telephone dialing device in your household is in use, then you should contact your local telephone company and ask them to place a special telephone Jack (rj-31x) that will allow the Companion Services® System to take control of or “seize” your telephone line. The Companion Services® System is designed to operate and send alarm monitoring signals over traditional telephone company provided phone lines. Alternative technologies may decrease effective delivery of those signals and may deliver less than desirable performance. You assume any risk of using alternative technologies.
