Product Overview
With many homeowners canceling their traditional landline service from their local telephone company, companies like ADT now offer features such as Safewatch® CellGuard®, which allows your home security system to operate without the use of a traditional home phone line. These types of systems link your home security system to your cell phone, which your security company’s monitoring center uses to keep you up to date on the status of your home security system.
A mobile security system can also be implemented as a backup or parallel service for your home security system. In this type of installation, your security system utilizes the primary telephone service to communicate with the monitoring service and, in the event of a loss of service, the system can revert to the mobile system to communicate with your security company.
Although a traditional landline is usually optimal for a home security system, standalone and parallel mobile security systems are on the rise because they save consumers money on monthly home telephone service fees.
