Product Overview

Security control panels act as the “operations center” of your home security system. In most installations, a security control panel is located close to the front door. A frequent location for a secondary control panel is in the master bedroom, as it allows you to arm the system before going to bed. Also, additional control panels can be installed in other locations throughout your home.

Most security control panels also have displays built-in which can inform you of important information about your home. It can alert you of when a window in your home is left open, or the exact location of a triggered smoke or door alarm. Some panels have a a panic button that lets you immediately dispatch police, fire, or rescue personnel, while others have speakerphone functionality built-in, so you can easily communicate with emergency personnel.

When I lost my spouse, I had ADT come to the home and hook up all doors and window. My favorite item is the talking security panels that you set the alarm with. It tells when what door is opened , there is no delay on my back doors, windows or anything opened tells me. I set it when I am alone during the day, the police and the ADT told me that for protection and it has paid off. No one can get in during the day without me knowing and then I had a panel in my bedroom so I can see the red light on the panel to know it is set. It is a good feeling to see it if I wake up during the night and I set it all the time I leave even if just going to the grocery store or running a quick errand. I even have my grandchildren doing it. A police officer told me that more woman need ADT. Ladies, even if you have a spouse, who is there to protect you during the day? ADT can. the monitoring is worth it and the cost for your life, is worth it. I have it on my business, lake house, home and my childrens homes. Which the hotels would do it. It cost less each month than what you would spend to eat out so which is more important, your dinner or your life.

I love my ADT System : I had one alarm go off it had nothing to do with personnel it was the lightning that set it off while I was away: The police came right away and the person with the code and other information was called and I was notified also all you have to do is call ADT office , if you are not pleased with their service there are other companies and no company is 100%, enjoy the work they put out or get another company to monitor your home it's that simple it;s your choice--I thank you for being there and for choosing to work while we are asleep if the alram goes off have a good day the added security is good !

Hi Renee, I think FC means failure to connect or fail communications. It usually happens when phone service is not available. You should contact your monitoring company.

Hi Dolores, if you have a two-way voice control panel (this is an option for many security control panels), then yes, you can get an operators assistance via ‘intercom’. It is usually called a two-way voice station.

Hi David C, many of ADT intrusion systems have what’s called a duress code, this code although similar to the users code allows the user to disarm his system and at the same time it also sends in a silent duress signal to the monitoring station. Typically this would be used when a customer is forced to disarm the alarm during a robbery etc. However before answering your question you will need to answer a few questions regarding your home alarm. I recall my installer telling me there was a "secret code" I could enter to disable the alarm that would secretly call police (if I'm entering home and forced to turn off alarm at gunpoint, for example). Is there such a code? Is there a way to locate the owner's manual online? I can't locate it. Thanks.
