Home Security Devices: Quality is Key to Prevent Home Invasions
By Frank Santamorena October 2, 2012 | 10:00 AMPosted in: Burglary & Loss Prevention, Home Alarm Systems With economic hard times being on the front
page of practically every newspaper in the country these days, more and more
families are having to finding ways to keep their family’s needs attended too.
Indeed, times are tough. So tough that many homeowners may think that they are
forced to place home security on the back burner. If you're feeling the
gripping effects of our troubled economy, you might find yourself tempted to
forego the expense of installing security devices in your home in order to save
money. But would this decision really save you money? Or could it potentially
be a horrible mistake?
Statistics today say that the majority of
criminals who commit burglary and home invasions gain entry through locked
doors and windows as their primary means.
It's a scary thought that many security professionals have witnessed at
first hand.
How many of us truly think about it? It’s
almost impossible to turn on the (TV) news and not witness some kind of
burglary or home invasion. They are
simply on the rise. The good news is that you don't have to risk your family’s
savings to protect them. The key is
researching and understanding which security companies offer adequate home protection
for your investment. Keep in mind; it's the quality of the home
alarms systems that are critical, not necessarily the
quantity.
Consider how to obtain the best value when
investing in home security equipment for you and your family. For example, a
glass
break sensor does not need to be placed on every
window. Having an Omni-Directional
glass break sensor placed on the ceiling of each room may give you all the
protection you need in Case a window is broken. Although these types of security
devices usually cost more per sensor, you will only
need one window
sensor per room compared to the many windows that
may be there. The same is true of high quality motion
sensors versus the less expensive inferior devices. Premium duel tech motion
sensors are capable of covering a larger area of square footage and allow for movements “other than human”. So
purchasing better quality home security devices, will save you from home
invasions and from false alarms which could be costly to you- since many local
jurisdictions may have Alarm Laws with fines for dispatching police to a false
alarm.
Common home security mistakes occur
when a consumer is “pennywise and pound foolish.” Home security doesn't have to break the bank.
The money you invest in quality home security equipment is worth the peace of
mind you gain in knowing you, your family, and your valuables are properly
protected against unwanted home invasions.
