Winter Cold Claims Lives
By Home Security Source Posted in: Personal Safety, Senior Safety It is easy to forget how dangerous cold winter weather can be. But extreme cold can affect anybody, even people who are healthy, if they don't make sure to stay warm and safe during the winter.
One recent news report out of Maryland highlights just how dangerous winter weather can be. With four deaths in the Baltimore area over a three-week period in November/December, it’s clear people are at risk even before winter “officially” began.
Remember that seniors, young children and people with underlying medical conditions are most vulnerable to weather-related injuries. So make sure to prepare for cold weather by creating an emergency cold weather plan and always keep extra blankets and winter supplies on hand.
