Around the world, the U.S. military protects us from enemies and preserves freedom. For one military family who suffered a tragedy here at home, a home protection system has provided them with safety and security.

Tramelle Braxton is the wife of a soldier serving in Iraq. Recently, their home in Chesterfield, VA was destroyed by severe storms, leaving her and their two children without a house.

“It was completely unlivable,” says Braxton. “Then I found out that someone had been staying in our home and had illegally hooked up the electricity. They almost burned the house down.”

Feeling unsafe, Braxton first contacted a national home security company that seemed unsympathetic to her plight. Then she called ADT and spoke with Virginia Nichols, a Residential Sales Representative in South Carolina. Nichols jumped into action and contacted Residential Sales Manager Joseph LaCognata from the Central Virginia district. He helped facilitate the donation of an ADT home security system and one year of free monitoring service.

“Tramelle really needed to catch a break,” adds LaCognata. “I want her husband to know that he keeps us safe by fighting over there, and their home protection system will help keep his family safe over here.”

Upon hearing the news, Braxton’s husband, Earl, sent a letter of gratitude to ADT. He wrote, “My wife told me how ADT treated her like family. This brought tears to my eyes, and it also shows me that there are people who appreciate what a soldier is doing for this country. I just want to express to the home security prevention team that I am proud to be a part of the ADT family.”
